Abstract

The West European scientific and public community very warmly welcomed the appearance of the monograph by the famous modern German historian and sociologist R. Zitelmann “Capitalism is Not a Problem, It is Solution. The Journey through the Modern History of the Five Continents” (2023). The work has received rave reviews from such prominent members of the business elite as Steve Forbes and John Mackey. Characterizing the work as a whole, it can be said that it is to some extent an apologetic celebration of modern capitalism. Experiencing periods of acute crisis as an integral part of its development, capitalism needs to explain its failures and determine its prospects. This is exactly what the author is trying to do in his work.
