EVERYDAY ECONOMIC LIFE OF RUSSIAN PEASANTRY IN ELABUGA DISTRICT OF VYATKA PROVINCE IN THE POST-REFORM PERIOD
In the paper the author raises a number of issues related to the development of the agricultural sector of the Kama-Vyatka region in the conditions of activation of the modernization process in the post-reform period. The focus is on the economic life of Russian peasants of Lekarevskaya county and Illinskaya county of Elabuga district.
The author reveals the essence of the complex peasant farming, the development of its individual branches and their interrelationship, interdependence and interchangeability from the standpoint of the history of everyday life, allows us to consider the socio-economic transformation of the Russian countryside at the micro level. An important feature is the imbalance in the development of agricultural activities and non-agricultural activities. Natural-geographical and socio-economic factors were crucial in selecting of these activities by peasants. Under the conditions of peasant farming differentiation, families, poorly secured allotment land, replenished its budget deficit at the expense of non-agricultural activities (market gardening, carting).
In the context of socio-economic transformation of the village, the author traces the features of inter-ethnic relations in the economic life. The author considers the economic conservatism of the peasants, and the reasons of slow progressive agronomic changes in the village. The paper traces the influence of capitalist reforms in the economic daily life of the village. The author notes that in an integrated peasant farming agriculture remains a priority sector.
