THE CHARACTER OF CAPITALISM DEVELOPMENT IN RUSSIA AND CHINA FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE THEORY OF A REVOLUTIONARY PERIOD (Comparative Aspect)
The problem of capitalism development in Russia at the end of the XIX and in the beginning of XX century has been considered from the perspective of the theory of a revolutionary period (hereinafter – an RP). Revolutions in one country make up a revolution period (hereinafter – an RP) as an integral system that has its own laws. Specific revolutions should be considered evidence of these processes within an RP. Depending on the time of the RP and its nature the countries are divided into three main groups. Russia and China have been qualified as countries of the third group, and the two are under comparison in the article. The analysis of the processes of forming and development of capitalism based on the objective laws of an RP has been carried out in the article. Despite a noticeable development of particular fields of its heavy industry and intense railway construction Russia was drastically falling behind dominating Western countries in terms of quality. The peasant community was in every possible way impeding the development of capitalistic relations in the countryside. The Stolypin reform did not manage to radically change the situation. Capitalism in Russia existed not in the form of a system but of a pattern of life that had no potential for development. This should be borne in mind when evaluating the current state of a “capitalistic” system in Russia as well the perspectives of its further development.
Keywords: capitalism in tsarist Russia, capitalism in China in the XXth Century, monopolies in Russia, Imperial Russia in the beginning of the XX century, geopolitical space, peasant community in Russia, Stolypin reforms.
